Ronimo Reveals Furry Character for Awesomenauts Update
So I'm sure by now you've heard of or played Awesomenauts, they have a new character, a furry character! Seen above is the Foxy 'Naut, and as it says on the kickstarter page "she's a whole lot o' woman".
Ok they have to be trying to appeal to furries with a line like that. It's also stated in the Kickstarter that she will officially join the Awesomenauts in "a few weeks" but that Iron Tier or higher backers [$30 or more] will be able to use her now in the beta. She does have an actual name but they're saving that for later for some reason. She sounds like my kind of character the way they describe her style, I'd explain to you myself but I think getting words right from the horse's mouth is always better so how about a quote from the kickstarter?
"The Foxy 'Naut is a really fast and agile brawler that uses an all-new Combo-point mechanic. Every melee hit gives her a combo point which charges her abilities, and the more combo points she gathers before using these, the stronger they get. Her Swipe skill is a short-ranged burst that can be used to hit multiple targets, and will increase all the damage these targets take for a short while afterwards. Her Pounce is a kind of dash used to close the distance between Foxy and her next victim, but can also be used to knock enemies into harms' way!"
Of course you can see more information on the new furry character on the Kickstarter mentioned above. So how do you feel about this new character? Awesome? Me too!
Halfbrick's New Game: Bears vs Art!
Halfbrick is quickly becoming one of my favourite mobile developers. The makers of the ever popular Fruit Ninja now bring us Bears vs Art, a game in which you play as a bear, annoyed by a millionaire who put an "art" gallery in his forest. So he's going around wrecking art like no tomorrow. Check out the trailer.
{youtube}c4VxWj8oqUw{/youtube}
Isn't it aweosme? The news gets better. It's already available on iPhone and iPad in Canada and Australia for free, that said, as the site's resident Canadian, I was able to play the game and got through the first five stages. It is so fun I didn't want to stop to write this story, and I may go back to play more when I'm done here. The game play is pretty basic, it's a puzzle game. You play as the bear in the art gallery, you click a direction to roll into and you roll into that direction (spindash style) until you hit a wall, if there is a piece of art in the square you stop in it pops up on screen and you swipe the screen to claw at it, Fruit Ninja style only with three claws instead of a sword. You're only given a limited number of moves though and you have to destroy all the art in order to move onto the next stage, so plan you're movies out carefully. I failed stage 5 a couple of times but managed to beat it on my third attempt, and won't be so brash in the future. Now I wanna hear from all of you, what do you think of the game based on the trailer, and if you're a Canuck or an Aussie have you tried the game? What did you think?
Conker Creator on Working With Nintendo vs Microsoft
The latest issue of NF Magazine contained several interesting interviews, probably the most interesting of which was with Chris Seavor, project leader of Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Conker Live and Reloaded.
When asked how they managed to get a very M rated game on the N64 Chris said "... I'm not even sure they [Nintendo] knew what they really had with Conker. Tim [Stamper] and Chris [Stamper] did and they said 'Yes, we want to make this'. And such was the trust between Rare and Nintendo that they were fine with that... Trust. A lovely concept, sadly lacking today with some publishers."
But then how did the transition go from Nintendo to Microsoft, if Nintendo was so trusting, how was Microsoft towards the developer? "...a promise from Microsoft that they wouldn't touch the way Rare was run (I guess because they didn't understand it), soon started to give was to little prods and pokes here and there... 'Production Managers' started to appear, asking all sorts of banal questions (not you Alison, we liked you). More and more strange people were appearing in the corridor, like a parade of eggs with eyes, wanting to see the game...You'd strike up a friendship, develop a rapport and then 'Poof' that person was gone and replaced by someone you didn't know. Then Tim and Chris left, there were more changes, then even more changes, then I didn't care anymore. And that's that I suppose." Not too well it seems.
Chris also talked about his work on the first two Killer Instinct games, and how he'd like to see Conker in Super Smash Bros. Now that's something I'd like to see, Conker fighting Sonic and Mario.

The God of War Collection, which contains the first two God of War games, will be joining it. Both collections will be released on May 6 at the price of $29.99.
I know God of War may be popular, but we all know which collection you guys really care about. ;)
Some Thoughts On The Bureau: XCOM Declassified
As of the time of this writing it’s been roughly a week or so since I finished The Bureau and the Hanger 6 DLC. Long enough that I’ve had time to short out my frustrations with some aspects and quell myself from the short lived ecstasy that comes from completing most any game.
Boiling it down to it’s simplest form, The Bureau walks, talks, and plays like a slightly poor man’s Mass Effect with a retro aesthetic, but that sells the game pretty short. It’s by no means a fantastic game but it’s more certainly better than most people made it out to be.
Cyan Releases realMYST Masterpiece Edition on Steam
Coming out of nowhere, Cyan released realMYST Masterpiece edition on February 5, 2014. RealMYST was originally co-developed by SunSoft for the PC back in 2000. The idea was quite simple; re-render the static picture-by-picture world of MYST in full 3D. On top of this, SunSoft removed the click progression of the world in favor of a full real time 3D control system. For the first time, players were able to fully walk around the ages of MYST, and players could also explore the new age of Rime, an age created to view other ages by the use of crystals.
Mario Kart 8 Release Date Announced
In some brighter Wii U news, for once, Nintendo has announced that Mario Kart 8 will be released in May. The new hi-definition Mario Kart game will feature the return of the Motorcycles from Mario Kart Wii as well as the return of the Hang-glides and underwater stages from Mario Kart 7. Besides the graphical overhaul, Mario Kart 8 will feature a band new Gravity gimmick that will allow the racers to race alongside walls and on special courses. The new gravity gimmick reminds me of the system from Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, and it looks to be a great addition to the insanity that is Mario Kart!
Warner Bros Has Pulled Batman: Arkham Origins DLC From the Wii U
The poor Wii U cannot seem to catch a break at all. It is bad enough that Nintendo is selling fewer systems than expected, but companies are also not porting their games over to the new console. However, it seems that one company is removing their DLC entirely off the platform. Warner Bros. is pulling all DLC from the Wii U version of Batman: Arkham Origins. This means that anyone who bought a season pass will not be receiving content that they purchased. In light of this, Nintendo is refunding the full cost of the season pass back to the gamers who purchased it, and the money will be used as E-shop credit. Now the question is who else will drop from the Wii U, and what the future has in store for the console.
Bioshock Infinite Burial at Sea: Episode 2 Releace Date Announced!
So it's finally come. Bioshock Infinite Burial at Sea: Episode 2, the first time ever that you can play as Elizabeth, the return of Atlas and Andrew Ryan, finally has a release date! What's the date you ask? All in due time my friends, first, a quote from Ken Levine. "In Burial at Sea - Episode Two, we are delivering a story that involves nearly every major character from the original BioShock and BioShock Infinite," "It is a story that will give gamers a new perspective on the BioShock universe and conclude the story of BioShock Infinite and Burial at Sea."
Ok ok now the date. March 25th 2014! So just over a month, are you excited? I'm excited :D What'll we see? We know from the trailer that it's about Elizabeth trying to get Atlas and his goons back to Rapture, will Columbia make an appearance? Maybe we can see Jack Wynand? My prediction actually is that Jack Wynand is going to turn out to be ANOTHER alternate universe version of Booker, because why the hell not.
So are you excited about Burial at Sea part 2? What are some of your predictions? Let us know in the comments below. And follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and Furaffinity, would you kindly?

PS4 Update 1.60 Shuts Some Users Out of PS Store
Sony has just released an update to the PS4's firmware, update 1.60. Unfortunately, it also came with a few problems. There are reports that indicate that some users who downloaded the new firmware were unable to log onto the PlayStation Store. When attempting to do so, the system would display the following message: “This service is not available in your country/region.”
Some users report that the problem can be temporarily fixed by logging off and then logging back onto PSN, although this is not a permanent solution and Sony claims to be working on a fix “on the server end.” It's unknown if the issue is directly related to the new update, but in my opinion it is not likely to be a coincidence.
This is also unfortunate because Outlast has just been added to PS+ for PS4 users. If you have a PS4 and do not want to risk missing out on Outlast, I'd advise you to go to the PC version of the store, log in, and “purchase” your free copy at store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com .

GF In Recover & Renew Mode
This past weekend, Gaming Furever was attacked. Because of this, we have decided to do a clean wipe of our website files. We've been recovering and restoring the data that we do have (which is everything up until right before we went down) but wanted to make sure the problem was completely eradicated as soon as possible. That's why there was very short notice.
As a reassurance, no personal data was compromised. All passwords are encrypted and protected. It was a simple case of adding in a script file that used our email sending method in a corrupt way.
To prevent this from happening again, we have been installing fresh, updated, secured versions of the software we use to run our site. The upside of this is that we have a cleaner, more functional system running everything. The downside is that not everything we had runs on this new software. We also want to do everything we can to prevent this from happening again, so we have removed outdated and vulnerable code and programs from GF. It will take us a few days to get all the kinks out and everything running smoothly, but we promise it will be!
So now what?Well, our staff has decided that this is as good a time as any to take a step back and do a full evaluation on how our site looks, what we focus on, and what we provide to all of you. With that said, we would absolutely love to hear from anyone who has thoughts on what they want from GF, what they think we do best, and any other specific comments you might have. We've set up a little survey that you can take to let us know whatever you want. We want to be the very best, like no one ever was, so please don't hesitate to say as much (or as little!) as you want.

Gaming Furever Spring 2014 SurveyStudy Shows Most Gamers are Paragons, not Renegades
A game critic from Pennsylvania, USA, Amanda Lange, has put together a study to determine how gamers interact with games that provide moral choices. Her findings have shown, among other things, that when given the choice, the majority of us, myself sometimes included, would rather don the shining armour of good, than the dark cloaks of evil.
