Opinion: Misconceptions about the origins of furry fandom

Tue 11 Jan 2011 - 18:05
"Contrary to popular belief, the furry fandom did not originate before the 1970's, nor were we the first anthropomorphic fandom. Before the furry fandom originated there was another fandom called "funny animal lovers". Unlike the furry fandom, funny animal lovers viewed it as a hobby and there wasn't any porn of the characters, sexual aspect came later on"

Polar bears destroy robot spy cams, show no remorse (video)

Wed 5 Jan 2011 - 12:25
"Iceberg Cam, Snowball Cam, Blizzard Cam and Drift Cam were the arctic photographer's best friends -- high-tech spy robot cameras designed to resist cold and traverse sub-zero terrain. Then they got crushed to death by giant polar bears while attempting to make friends. Seriously, that's the basic gist of Polar Bear: Spy on the Ice, a new BBC documentary which began airing last week, and which just so happens to be narrated by David Tennant. Hope he's got a screwdriver handy, if you know what we mean. Watch the bears play a spirited match of robot football after the break, then see all th

Wed 5 Jan 2011 - 12:24
"TLC's My Strange Addiction is to feature furries on an episode airing January 19. [DeoVacuus] Kiira, an amateur fursuit builder, was paid $1500 for her appearance. Other announced episodes cover sleeping with a blow-drier, eating toilet paper and thumb-sucking, while past seasons featured eating chalk and extreme tanning. Many furs fear a reprisal of The Tyra Banks Show, whose host presented furry as a sexual fetish. My Strange Addiction claims to "[tell] the compelling
