The relaunched FurNation has restored its hosting, though their archive may be incomplete.

The index page displays 814 sites, but some seem to be just a few files or forwarding pages.

FurNation used to be a major furry hosting site. However, intermittent uptime forced many elsewhere — often to the now-defunct GeoCities.

New users looking for hosting by FurNation are currently asked to contact an administrator.

Spokane convention All Fur Fun may hold a one-day event this year, according to event organizers Tora Kiyoshi and Moorcat.

The con served almost 200 attendees last year, but fell into debt after several setbacks, including a chandelier accident.

To make matters worse, the US Olympic figure skating tryouts were held in Spokane this year, disrupting hotel bookings.

Current plans are for a one-day event on 15 May, including an art show, after which attendees can participate in the Spokane Lilac Festival Torchlight Parade before returning to the hotel for a party. A full weekend event is expected for 2011.

In related news, proposed Arizonan convention Phoenix Furness looks to be no more, as inquiries on its journal go without official answer.

Danish furs have a new event to look forward to in July next year - Furtastic, described by an organizer as a "really big furmeet" and "akin to [Canadian camp-out] Feral!"

The three-day event is to take place in a scouting lodge on the outskirts of Aalborg, in the north of Denmark. Storytelling, card games and outdoor activities are already on the agenda.

A separately-organized, hotel-based Danish convention - Eufuria - is to take place June 4-6 this year in Copenhagen.

The BBC reports on the spread of Chinese tiger-farms, now estimated to contain more tigers than currently in the wild. The farms are popular destinations for tourists, but allegedly contain wineries in which the bones of dead animals are steeped to produce tiger bone wine.

As international law forbids the sale of tiger products, lion bones are often used - their price has reportedly risen 30-fold in the past two years.

A recorded skit parodying a popular SNL short brought raucous laughter to this year's Furry Night Live. However, some found the work by fursuit studio Furr Happens deeply offensive, and have been making their voices heard on Further Confusion's LiveJournal.

The three-minute video parodied Saturday Night Live digital short The Shooting/Dear Sister — itself a parody of The Dearly Beloved, The O.C.'s second series finale. Two years ago, the same group provided a take-off of DNL short "Dick In A Box" (comparison), winning a popular vote.

Those complaining about the video felt it trivialized domestic violence and the use of guns. As of Thursday night, Frysco had moderated FurCon after posts which "degenerated into name-calling, personal attacks and flame-wars," in part due to an unrelated staff incident.

Dragon's Eye have released a new Furcadia update, plus an OS X installer.

The new version offers several new avatar and portrait features. But lower-level changes may matter more to dream developers — and to DEP's bottom line.

Some shoppers and their kids get more than they bargained for, meeting up with Brazilian furs followed by a TV crew (translation). The show also covers members of the LondonFurs.

The piece was discussed (translation) on Portuguese-language news portal Fauna Urbana; apparently much more footage was taken. Although pleased with the general tone, local furs were disappointed in the focus on fursuiting.

Brazil is home to furry camping convention Abando, held near São Paulo since 2008.
