During the last week of August every year, a city pops out of the desert in Nevada, quickly going from population zero, to being the third largest city in Nevada.nbsp; Black Rock City is an experiment in temporal spontaneous autonomous living, lasts for only a week, and is complete with many of the things a normal city would have such as a post office and radio station.br /br /This year, in addition to being broadcast over normal airwaves in the area (94.5), there will be a live web stream of the station.br /br /In addition to playing some fun electro swing, balkan, and world party beats, Inbsp;plan to do the usual radio banter, with a furry twist.nbsp; So expect me to talk about anything and everything, much of it furry related.nbsp; Inbsp;may also have some of the camp mates from our new furry themed camp (FUR) in to talk about their furry experiences as well.br /br /And keep in mind, this is a night time show, doesnt give a fuck about the FCC, and the city is mostly adults.nbsp; So if you are easily offended and feel that furries need to only give a one sided view of what furries are like, dont tune in.nbsp; Ill be talking about my experience with furries, I will not be talking about what some furries who feel they represent the fandom would say when talking with the normal media.nbsp; But if you want to hear what a furry on the radio in a mostly counter cultural environment would sound like, then do tune in.br /br /br /The shows are scheduled for Monday (8/30) and Friday (9/3) from 10pm - midnight (PST).br /br /You can tune into the station by going to:br /a href=http://www.bmir.org/br /http://www.bmir.org//abr /br /And clicking quot;Listen Nowquot; (at the appropriate time, of course).br /

I recently did a story for my newspapers Business section on Anthropaws, a local fursuit-making company, and its coming out tomorrow in print and was just posted on the Web. Its a weekly community paper in the suburban Seattle area with a circulation of over 40,000.br /br /Ive wanted to do the story for a while and finally got the opportunity - my boss was like quot;Your co-worker is going on vacation so I need you to write a business story for us. Either you come up with something or I will find something for you!quot;br /br /*squee*br /br /I think it turned out really really well and was a great chance for me to present the fandom, and fursuiting, in a positive light as well as help Ithabise get off the ground with some commissions. Granted this was a business story so I couldnt go into that much detail about the fandom itself but I did the best I could with what I had to work with.br /br /I also got to lay out the newspaper this issue, so I put a photo of Dyno (Ithabises German Shepherd suit) really big right on the cover and teased to the story inside.
