Squirrel Girl and Howard the Duck to crossover in 2016
Marvel comics launched two titles early this year featuring slightly obscure, slightly ridiculous and more-than-slightly furry characters; Howard the Duck and The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. Actually, they will both have two #1 issues by the end of the year (The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl's second first issue came out this week, while Howard the Duck returns on November 4). Both have gained mostly positive reviews since their launches, so of course these two characters will appear in each other's books in a crossover next spring.
Not much detail is known at the moment about what these two characters will be doing that will require them to team-up, but Marvel has revealed an advance solicit (that is admittedly less than helpful):
This summer, the two most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe clash! You asked for it ... you demanded it ... and now you'll get it: GALACTUS versus WOLVERINE! Just kidding, the story's actually about Squirrel Girl and Howard the Duck, and instead of fighting they solve problems together. Sorry for making you think Galactus and Wolverine would fight, maybe that should be our next team-up though since it's not a bad idea at all. Wolverine could get some Power Cosmic on her claws to create the Power Clawsmic and Galactus could be all "OH NO YOU DIDN'T". Anyway, in our story Howard and Squirrel Girl fight some dudes and learn some important lessons and Galactus doesn't even show up once, the end.

The Chip in the above solicit is Chip Zdarsky, writer for Howard the Duck, while the Ryan is Ryan North, writer for The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. Both the first volumes of The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl and Howard the Duck are now available in paperback collections; Howard also has an omnibus collection of his pre-2015 adventures. Squirrel Girl (and her squirrel sidekick, Tippy Toe) are also appearing in the newest volume of The New Avengers.

Is it me or does the Squirrel Girl on this pic look more like Archie is Cosplaying Squirrel Girl? (When ironically it looks like it's supposed to be Squirrel Girl cosplaying Howard Duck?)
Someone draws a female superhero in a way that doesn't emphasize her breasts and ass, and gives her short hair, and of course the first comment is "she looks like a dude."
A dude cosplaying as a female mind you.
It's actually more the facial features, but after reviewing several segments of what Archie's appearances is and Squirrel girls, I probably don't know what I'm talking about.
Galactus vs Wolverine? That's funny -- until you realise that Marvel has, over the years, made Wolverine so overpowered that he might well win.
You, uh, might want to check your pronouns there, buddy. Notice the blurb talks about "her claws."
Logan's dead. That's the all-new Wolverine, a.k.a. X-23, a.k.a. Laura Kinney, a.k.a. "Wolverita" (as Cammi called her back in Avengers Arena).
By the way, Squirrel Girl has canonically defeated both Logan Wolverine and Galactus, so, you know, might not be your comic book.

You're so dumb, crossie, you probably believed Marvel when they said Otto Octavius was going to be Spider-Man forever. I bet you fell for it when Superman died too, maybe even cried like a little girl.
There is no "canon" in comic books, only consumerism. Ma and Pa Kent were dead for 50 years, then they weren't. Green Lantern turned gay and Thor became a woman. The day DC makes Batman rim Robin -- assuming they haven't already -- you'll be first in line to plug that comic, like a good little consumer drone.
