Data loss

Your rating: None Average: 5 (2 votes)

Last night, Flayrah.com's web provider evidently moved the site to a new server without advance notification. I recieved notification only this morning when I checked my mail; the move evidently happened in the early morning hours. As far as I can tell, they used a slightly dated backup when moving the site. As a result, we lost a couple days worth of posts and comments. I'm not happy with this, but there appears to be nothing I can do to recover this data.

I'd ask them for a rebate on this month's hosting fees based on the data you lost. But then, I'm just grumpy that way.

They're giving me a permanant package level upgrade as compensation, which is something, at least. I've got bandwidth and space oozing out my ears, now. Anyone need content hosted? ;P

Web Link updates were also lost. One of them, for FurBase, had been approved, and another, for FurBuy, was still pending approval (I was trying to decide if we needed to create a new category for this link). Both of these have been lost. If the submitter of these links will resubmit them, I'll be happy to approve them.

There are currently no links waiting for approval; any others that were submitted before the server move will need to be resubmitted.
