There's a tiger in my bed...

School officials in Minnesota were a bit taken aback by a fifth-grader's explanation of his inability to keep awake in class, and of the scratch marks covering his body. Apparantly, the tiger in his bedroom was keeping him up at night.
The 3 or 4 month old tiger - named Anna by the boy - has since been secured by a Humane Society.

'has since been secured by a Human Society'
I'm thinking you meant Humane Society...

Yes, I did in fact mean "Humane" and not "Human", since as we all well know the latter isn't necessarily synonymous with the former.
I hate to break it to you, but nature itself ain't exactly known for kindness.
Yes, and neither does it make any pretense at being otherwise. As with many things "humanity" and "nature" are both in opposition and yet intertwined. When the Hindenburg exploded could we have not as easily heard "Oh, the nature!"?
Ok, ok, so it doesn't quite have that ring to it, but that's exactly why we are the egocentric, presumptuous creatures that we are, neither kind or natural, yet efficiently self-serving (like a TV dinner, I suppose).
