Police in Vancouver, British Columbia are on the lookout for a serval cat that had been left in the back seat of her owner's car for an extended period of time before being stolen. According to Canada.com, police don't feel the cat is a threat now; at first, it was thought to be at large, so children were kept inside, but they now feel it's in the possession of whoever stole it. The owner is under investigation for animal cruelty.

Author Charlie Russell has written several books about bears, including his most recent, called "Grizzly Heart," about his experiences living with brown bears in the Kamchatka Peninsula. His approach to bears is markedly different from the norm; he believes treating bears with respect and friendship is better than the atmosphere of fear and wariness usually put forward. Check out the pictures. (unfortunately, the gallery doesn't include one in the newspaper article I saw this in - the author sitting on a riverside, next to a comfortable-looking reclining wild female grizzly.)
