Behind the scenes at Radio City Music Hall, Bambi Brook is responsible for the well-being of the four-legged stars of the "Christmas Spectacular".

Below the stage and across from the donkey pen, she keeps an eye on camels, sheep, donkeys, and a horse, 24 hours a day.

"Her company, Dawn Animal Agency, provides creatures for film and television. The animals in the Christmas show rotate with others that live on 250 acres in Westtown, N.Y., about 75 miles from Manhattan. "

PETA has threatened to file suit in contest of the "Happy Cow" commercial claims. Sponsored by the California Milk Advisory board, the commercials pitch the slogan: "Great cheese comes from happy cows. Happy cows come from California".

PETA argues that the life of the cows is far removed from the lush rolling pastureland depicted in the campaign's television advertisments.

An article ran today in both The Globe and Mail and The National Post about two young girls on a mission to rescue tens of thousands of horses in Alberta from slaughter.
The girls began their efforts after hearing word that due to drought the horses could not be fed over the winter and would have to be put down. Industry is baffled over the efforts as they recognize horse slaughter as a viable and profitable enterprise.

Thanks to bill number ACR 175, which was passed by the State of California, December 14, 2002 has been designated as "Day of the Horse".

While at the movie theatre the other night I caught a glimpse of a trailer for "Kangaroo Jack". While I don't expect this to be a masterpiece of cinematography, the presence of the film's main character will most likely compensate... take a look at http://kangaroojack.warnerbros.com/
