Silver Circle cover art by KamuiThis is the last interview for a while, I swear! I had the pleasure of interviewing Kyell Gold on his latest publication, 'The Silver Circle'. My questions and comments are not to be taken seriously.

Isiah Jacobs: Good evening, Kyell Gold! Thank you so much for joining me tonight. It's nice to have you on the show, at last!

Kyell Gold: Thanks! Glad to be here.

Isiah Jacobs: So, you've recently come out with your latest book, The Silver Circle. I assume that's a term for some sort of gay cult?

Kyell Gold: Actually, you are correct. It's an underground society of homosexual activists that was formed in northern Germany in the late 1800s to attempt to bring back the Holy Roman Empire. But that's not what this book is about. In this case, it's an allusion to the moon, and the metal silver, because the book is about werewolves.

Isiah Jacobs: But having read it, it has more than just werewolves, doesn't it Kyell?

Kyell Gold: It does. It also includes female characters. It even stars a female character.

Isiah Jacobs: And a straight relationship.

Kyell Gold: Potentially two, in fact.

Isiah Jacobs: Who are you and what have you done to the real Kyell Gold?

I had the pleasure of interviewing Rick Griffin about his latest novella Ten-Thousand Miles Up. My questions and comments are not to be taken seriously.

Ten-Thousand Miles Up cover

Isiah Jacobs: Welcome back, Mr. Griffin! It's a pleasure to have you on the show again!

Rick Griffin: Thank you for having me

Isiah Jacobs: Just so you know, if you come back five times, you get a free coffee mug, so make sure you have my producer stamp your card before we're done.

For starters, you lied to me, sir! Last time you were here, I asked you if you had any other projects in the works, and you didn't even mention this story! What gives?

Rick Griffin: Well I first wrote this story back in 2010 and for a long time I hadn't had any plans on updating and releasing it.

Isiah Jacobs: So then why did you decide to release it? Trying to get your claws on another award for next year?

I had the pleasure of interviewing Rei Vegan earlier this year, starting back in March. Due to a busy schedule, the interview wasn't completed until April. Final exams got in the way of editing, so some topics brought up will be out of date. Thank you for your understanding.

My questions and comments are not to be taken seriously. Also, this interview is pretty long. Might want to grab something to eat.
Rei Vegan

Isiah Jacobs: Good evening, Rei Vegan, thank you so much for joining me tonight!

Rei Vegan: Good evening Don, the pleasure's all mine.

Isiah Jacobs: So let's see here, you're obviously very well known for your web comic, DSV Nautica [NSFW], one of my personal favorites, I hate to admit, but you've actually been doing this whole furry thing for quite a while now. According to what the younger generation would call you, you're a "gray muzzle." You'll be turning 32 next week, is that correct?

Rei Vegan: This is indeed correct. I'm kind of fond of the term "gray muzzle" myself; it makes me imagine myself on the porch yelling obscenities at kids on my lawn or some such.

Isiah Jacobs: What, like yelling at them to stop their furpile?

Rei Vegan: -and listening to that dot matrix printer noise they call Dub Step. *chuckles*

I had the pleasure of interviewing Jon Ponikvar about his plans to turn his webcomic 'Peter and Company' into an animated series. My questions and comments are not to be taken seriously.

Peter and SethIsiah Jacobs: Good evening, Mr. Ponikvar! Thank you so much for joining us tonight!

Jon Ponikvar: Thank you for having me.

Isiah Jacobs: So, as I understand it, you have a webcomic that you call Peter and Company. Could you please briefly explain what this comic is all about?

Jon Ponikvar: Yes indeed. It runs off a basic premise. "What if a child's imaginary friend were actually his guardian angel?"

The story revolves around Peter, a young cat, who is having trouble making it through childhood. Sort of a social outcast, has a hard time making friends, that sort of thing. One day he makes a new friend in Seth, a white-suited duck. He also realizes that he's the only one who can see him.

Isiah Jacobs: Sounds like he's tripping balls. Do you condone drug abuse?

Jon Ponikvar: LOL if it's a hallucination, then it's a pretty advanced trip. Considering other kids have Guardians as well and they can interact with each other. But yes, that's the basic premise of the comic. It's sort of a slice-of-life design with a tiny bit of fantasy mixed in.

This interview has been transcribed from it's original A/V format. As such, the structure of the interview may be confusing. Keep in mind that this is meant to re-create the conversation-like interview. Thank you.

Me: Good evening, Quetza, thank you so much for joining me tonight!

Quetza: Pleasure to be here.

Me: So, there has been so much to your life, it’s astounding to even imagine it! First off, how long have you been a furry?

Quetza: I first got into the fandom in, I believe, 2004. So that’s... eight years, I believe now?

Me: Were you one of those furries that always felt all their life that there was something weird about them? How they had an interest in furries. Or did you just find them and they caught your interest?

Quetza: Well I will say that I had certain interests as a kid. Not in furries. I mean, I didn’t know what a furry was. I didn’t know the concept of furry existed, until 2004. But I did have certain interests, certain things I liked as a kid a lot, and I couldn’t really explain it. Dragons, for instance, I really got into them as a pre-teen, like 11, 12. I couldn’t explain it, and eventually, I found the furry fandom and it just sort of went from there. So it isn’t really a thing you always know about, but you can have certain interests that tie in to it that can come in later, I think.

I interview video game artist Kay Fedewa, importer of domesticated foxes from Russia. My questions and comments are not to be taken seriously.

AnyaIsiah Jacobs: Good evening, ma'am, thank you so much for coming on to the show, it's a pleasure to have you here!

Kay Fedewa: Oh anytime, it's an honor.

Isiah Jacobs: So, you are currently in charge of a program called The Domestic Fox. Could you please briefly explain what this program does?

Kay Fedewa: In short, we work with the Russian Institute of Cytology and Genetics, and with people interested in buying foxes from them. We sort out all the import and export documentation, licenses, transport costs, vaccinations, etc. and deliver foxes from the institute to their new owners.

Isiah Jacobs: As I understand it, this institute has been working on domesticating foxes for the past roughly sixty years or so. You do know that it wasn't called Russia back then, right?

Kay Fedewa: Yes and actually after the Soviet Union broke up, the government funding for this experiment disappeared along with it. They've been struggling to keep this going since then.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Zelaphas (iowncharles on FA) about her Twitter feed. My questions and comments are not to be taken seriously.

Best of FurryIsiah Jacobs: Hello there, ma'am! Thank you so much for joining me today! It's a pleasure to have you on the show!

Zelephas: Thanks, glad to be here :D

Isiah Jacobs: So, you currently run a Twitter feed called @BestofFurry. For those that aren't aware, could you please briefly explain what exactly you do with this feed?

Zelephas: Sure! The goal of BestofFurry is to be the one-stop-shop for the very BEST in the furry, fantasy, feral and mythical fandoms. Many sites allow you to see the top artists, but often mask the wonderful work that up-and-comers do, or only showcase digital art and not costumes, crafts, literature, music, dance or other performance. Furries and fantasy fans are an incredibly talented bunch in a variety of mediums, and my hope is to provide an outlet for fans to see the best of all of it.
