Furnal Equinox hosts 'Infurnal' YouTube video competition

Canadian furry convention Furnal Equinox has announced its first "Infurnally Yours" video competition. To enter, participants must create and post a YouTube video (max. two minutes) citing the con's website and answering the question 'Why come to Furnal Equinox 2012?'

The winning video producer will receive a sponsor membership to Furnal Equinox 2012. Entries will be judged based on originality, creativity, tastefulness and quality of the final product, as well as the number of views and likes received on the YouTube website.

Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET, November 30; finalists will be chosen soon after. Official contest rules and the entry form are available on Furnal Equinox's website.

Preregistration has opened for Furnal Equinox 2012.

The third iteration of the convention, with the heaven-and-hell theme of Infurnally Yours, is scheduled to take place March 16-18, 2011 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Featured at the convention will be artist Guests of Honour Dark Natasha and Canadian Marci McAdam.

Canadian convention Furnal Equinox held its second edition this weekend in Toronto, cementing its place as Canada's most well-attended furry event.

Over 450 registered in the course of three days, and 110 participated in the fursuit parade.

The charity auction raised CA$4,000 for the Mississauga Humane Society, with a commission from South African Guest of Honour ZEN selling for $450. Fellow Canadian Guest of Honour FirestormSix provided fursuit photography and hosted a panel on fursuit care.

Furnal Equinox releases February 2011 newsletter

As the weather begins to warm up, Toronto-based furry convention Furnal Equinox has released its February 2011 newsletter, calling fans to preregister before February 28 and asking them to volunteer at the convention.

The convention has extended its room block and recently announced an expansion at its hotel.

Furnal Equinox has released its December 2010 newsletter in celebration of the upcoming holiday season.

The December newsletter includes updates on conbook submissions, volunteering and programming, plus a call for furry DJs and an announcement of Furnal Equinox's 2011 charity.

Furnal Equinox has released its November newsletter with more information about its 2011 edition, to be held March 11–13 in Toronto, Canada.

Most importantly, the early bird preregistration rate – C$30 for members, C$60 for sponsors – expires on November 30, when prices increase by $5. Potential attendees are encouraged to get in touch within the next couple of weeks to make sure they don't miss out on the fun.

Furries across Canada and beyond can now prepare to come out of hibernation next spring. Preregistration is open for Furnal Equinox, taking place March 11-13, 2011 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with Guests of Honour FirestormSix and ZEN.

In 2010, FE became Canada's largest furry event with attendance of over 300 at the Doubletree Toronto Airport. For 2011, programming has been expanded to three days. Early bird registration lasts until November 30; new dealers' rates combine tables and registration.
