Winter draws nigh, and the great beasts shall sleep
But we shall putter away in our mysterious keep
For we scurrying creatures have so much to do
Before we can bring our convention to you --
And you may not know it, but you can lend a paw too.

For our convention is not run by magic, oh no;
Only with your aid shall it continue to grow.
If you are cunning like the fox, swift like the hare,
Stout like the ox, or smarter than the average bear,
Then lo, come forth!  Bring your bids to the table!
And perhaps next time you'll be part of the fable...

Important FC2006 Hotel News

Some important hotel news from Further Confusion 2006.

Due to high demand, the hotel is currently out of double queen rooms. Single King rooms are still available and rollaway beds may be requested as extra beds in these rooms. Please request the extra beds when making your reservation with the hotel.

Also, there are no more parlor suites available. If you wish to be put on a waiting list on the chance of a cancellation, please contact us at hotel@furtherconfusion.org.

FC2006: Announcing our 2nd Guest of Honor, and Film Festival

is proud to announce our second Guest of Honor, Jane Lindskold.

and many other works of fantasy. Further Confusion is excited to
have this most wonderful author join us in January 2006.

We would also like the announce that we are sponsoring a Film
Festival, which will showcast animated and live-action short films
with anthropomorphic themes submitted by both fans and film-makers. All
films shown will be judged by a select panel for a 1st place cash
prize.

Both hotels for Anthrocon now sold out

The rooms that we were able to secure at the Windsor have now been sold. The remainder of the hotel is booked for other functions, so there are no more rooms to be had. If you are still in need of a room, please check our hotel page for a list of hotels nearby. Anthrocon has not blocked any rooms at those hotels since at this point we have no idea how many rooms to guarantee, so you'll have to pay the prevailing "rack rate." A NOTE ABOUT THE WYNDHAM: The Wyndham is overbooked. We expect that there will be enough attrition in the room block that this will not be a concern when the convention rolls around. If you are not going to be able to make it to the convention this year and have reserved a room, please remember to cancel the reservation as soon as possible. The hotel will no longer allow a room to be switched to someone else's name, so if you can't go but know a friend who is looking for a room, please send that friend to our list of alternate hotels. You will not be able to "give" your room over. It may seem like a kind thing to do, but you may well be preventing some other person from getting a room when they arrive at the hotel. We'd like to try to avoid that!

"Skinwalkers" coming to North America

SciFi Wire reports that Lions Gate Films has acquired the werewolf film Skinwalkers for the world outside Germany, Variety reported. Lions Gate will release the movie wide in North America next year and handle international sales. Production is slated to begin this fall.

First Public FC 2006 Meeting

The time has come to start preparing for Further Confusion 2006. The first public hotel meeting will be April 16th, 2005, at noon at the Double Tree Hotel in San Jose, CA. This meeting is open to the public and will be the first of many monthly meetings we will be having for FC2006.

We still need a lot of people on staff to make this work. Each year we hire over 100 staff members in order to help us run FC , this means that we still have a lot of positions to fill. If you have never worked a con before, no experience is required for most of the positions. We cannot run this convention without you and we need your help in running it.
