shockwave's stories

I just got my DVD of Khaze, Ghost Warrior in the mail this Saturday.

First, realize that the entire 20 minutes of video was done by one person with 2 off-the-shelf computers and off-the-shelf software. It is amazing that the film was created at all.

It’s a great film for furries, no doubt about it.

Had a little accident with the WayBack machine. (Stupid dog!)
Anyways, here's a little anniversary approaching that I bet
none of us have thought about - it has been 10 years now since
the Sci-Fi Channel began broadcasting!

My, how the dream has changed since then...

Hi all.

Those of you who want to get copies of my stories from my webpage have less than 2 weeks to download them. All the stories including "My Tutor has 6 tails," "Far from Home," and the rest of the webpage will cease to be in a little while.

Why, you ask? The answer is simple and out of my control. The ISP I've used for the past 7 years is closing down. And when it goes bye-bye, my storage space (and account) go with it. They will shut down on August 30 of 2002.

Not everyone can see it, but on June 10, just before sunset, a solar eclipse will occur. Go to the map at this link to see if you fall in the region where it will be visible.

On May 1 of this year, the same planetary "pile up" that was mentioned last week will also cause another unusual sight in the skies. Shortly after dark you will see a line form with M45 (the Pleiades cluster) on the bottom with Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Saturn all lining up close together! Planetary alignments are neat, and they rarely form up with other galaxies.

For those of you who are interested in where this is in the sky and what it will look like, you can see a preview on my page.

You shouldn't need a telescope to view this. It will be visible to the naked eye.

No, I'm not making it up. A computer game company has decided that pets are an undertargeted niche market and has written a game for housecats to play. I suppose I should buy stock in online catnip sales as the web will be next...

From Email on TAFF list:

Pass this info on to the newsgroups.

Furnation will be getting a new SDSL connection in approximately 3-4
weeks and will come back on line as soon as possible thereafter. Nexxus
moved to a new part of town and it's taken a while for the DSL people to
get up to speed in the area, but he's on their list to get a hookup by
the end of May. Once the first line is in and clear, he will decide if
he can afford a second or third one again

Robert A Heinlein is a well-known and popular author. But what even the hardcore fans often don't know is that he graduated from the US Naval Academy (class of 29.) Now the Academy has created an Endowed Chair in Aerospace Engineering to honor him and to provide "vision and direction for the USNA's astronautical engineering curriculum, our small satellite program, and our satellite ground station."
