I think the individual in question does have a passion for cinematography, and even had a job in it before they were let go for being trans-gendered.

Perhaps if their employer hadn't been so short sighted, their employee wouldn't have felt the need to engage in her 'vanity project'. So perhaps you can direct your anger that way.

There are worse things 'popufurs' of the past tried to raise money for. Kage got in a bit of a controversy snare back in 2010 when he tried to raise money to get 2 to go with him to Eurofurence back in 2010: https://forum.eurofurence.org/index.php?topic=2286.0

At least the fandom is getting a product that everyone can enjoy from the fundraising efforts. The above ones, not so much unless you were a person going to Eurofurence that year and were of the ones who would even attend that performance.
