I suspect the closest we'll get to a defined 'after' is when an effective vaccine becomes generally available and enough data collected to know how long it grants immunity for. Obviously, showing proof of vaccination within it's effective period will likely be a condition of being able to register for furry cons. I hope they make no exceptions for any reason for the first round of cons at least just like Disney is being about mask use. It actually wouldn't bother me if that was extended to getting flu shots as well. At least furries could have a little fun with that one. While I expect a certain number will choose to keep wearing masks, I suspect that will be the minority. For myself, the day I know I can't catch it or pass it to others, the masks go in the trash.

There's likely to be an inexpensive self-contained saliva test available in the next couple months. People will then be able to self test as needed. That ought to at least allow for some smaller gathering to happen in a much safer way than they currently do. I know if I could do that, I'd feel ok about visiting some family members again. Obviously that wouldn't be enough safety for large events, but we have to start somewhere.
