Sonic fandom is pretty interesting, before I met my friend who is into Sonic, I didn't know how much Sonic was part of the Fur scene. I can see wanting them to be the actual characters, I've liked a few cartoon Dog characters along the way and thought it would be cool to be in their world, and developed crushes on them. It didn't happen with Alpha and Omega yet, but I did draw Humphrey's picture once.
I have to think there will be all the same types of sex toys for Furries that humans have, just give it time. If the Fur scene grows for generations and becomes an actual subculture, then Furs will have all the bigger items than just toys, and likely things that haven't been thought of yet that relate specifically to anthros.
I like to see the wide range of things that could be anthro, not just the two legged kind and think that's all there has to be, or all that qualifies to be anthro. Talking Dogs are something I like a lot, or the small features you mentioned where it's not like a real wolf would do, paws used more like hands, certain gestures or eye movements, or even behaviors that are outside what the full animal would do. That's great stuff and I like it on a real quiet level, in an otherwise everyday looking four legged Dog. I like the other side too, a human behaving like another animal.
If they're making you feel like an outcast here, you could review some other movies outside of Alpha and Omega, there are plenty of others outside of what the big studios are making. I don't know if you want to just do animated wolf movies or not, but there are many, including web series that you could try, and other off-grid movies by up and coming producers.
I'd see your Deviant page if it's okay for you to post it.
