Technically, maybe, but I don't consider a poorly-advertised release in a single theater for one week to be a "real" U.S. release. Some Indian animated feature (non-anthropomorphic) in Hindi with English subtitles played in a Texas theater for two weeks in 2015, but does anyone consider that a real U.S. release?
