I've been trying to _find_ places where I could _recommend_ Rob Rice's fiction! His first two novels had an X-Files mood; the new "Loquacious" book is like a needed remedy to the _idiotic_ way that myth and history were handled by "Xena, Warrior Princess."
I would not say that the hero's Centaur identity _fades_ in the second half of "Chronicles;" rather, the first half has _accomplished_ the necessary exposition of that identity, _allowing_ Loquacious to get on with plot action in the second half. I love both halves!
