About 1950, when I was nine years old, I read Robert A. Heinlein's Space Cadet. Set in 2075, it begins with teenager Matt Dodson joining the Space Patrol as a probationary cadet. There is an early scene where he is waiting in line and gets a call on his mobile phone. I remember thinking, "Wow, Heinlein predicts that there will be mobile, personal phones by 2075!"
