I'd personally like to see a more obscure character join the line-up. Maybe Wart from Super Mario Brothers 2, could have some nifty dreamland type moves.
If they wanted another swordsman type character, how about the legendary Erdrick from Dragon Warrior or the Warrior from Wizards & Warriors, the main character from The Magic of Scheherazade, maybe Rygar? Magic type characters: Dana from Solomon's Key or Shadax from Solstice.
It's so unfortunate that they don't have Rare anymore... one character that would make this an instant buy for me (even if he was toned down): Conker the Squirrel.
