I was never a big fan of the Pirates movies -- more of a Master and Commander man, myself -- but my opinion of them did go up when I read about how clueless studio head Michael Eisner would splutter dismissively through test screenings, insisting that footage of "drug-addled, effeminate" Captain Jack be edited out, replaced with more of "decent, clean-cut" Orlando Bloom. (Instead, to both their and their movie's credit, Verbinski and Depp refused to back down.)
Michael Eisner, the studio exec who wanted Orlando Bloom to be the next action-movie leading man! That really says it all, doesn't it?
