A brand-new collection or anthology of previously-published stories is considered a new work. The 2001 Award in the Best Other Literary Work category went to "The Sound & the Furry: The Complete Hoka Stories" by Poul Anderson & Gordon Dickson, which was the first complete collection of all their Hoka short stories which had all been previously published individually and in partial collections. Another 2003 collection which got nominations, but not enough to get onto the final ballot, was "The Firebringer Trilogy" by Meredith Ann Pierce, the first single-volume collection of her novels "Birth of the Firebringer", "Dark Moon" and "The Son of Summer Stars".
