The same group previously explained how a newt used its ribs as poisonous barbs, puncturing its own skin and that of animal hoping to consume it.

Omaha furs explain fursuiting to local media

Your rating: None Average: 5 (5 votes)

Omaha's fursuiters have been spotted by the local media. Naturally, their first instinct was to consult a psychiatrist for an evaluation of the furs' sexual proclivities.

Despite that, the tone was positive; several fans were quoted, including Snap E. Tiger:

Some people play tennis for fun. Some people go golfing. Some people go to bars and they drink a lot of beer. Some people even take drugs. Instead of all those things, we decide to put on costumes.

Mentioned in passing was Rocket City FurMeet, held this weekend in Huntsville, Alabama.

Spanish furry portal Red Furros has an exclusive interview with Peggy Wang, keyboard player and vocalist for The Pains of Being Pure at Heart:

I first discovered furries on an MTV show called "True Life: I'm a Furry." I became really fascinated with them. I'm sure there are varied motives behind the lifestyle, but I guess for me, being a shy and self-conscious person, I can definitely see the attraction in expressing yourself through a character. Also, I like cute stuff. Ha ha.

Peggy's band was recently covered thanks to their music video, Higher Than the Stars.

Upcoming furry comics for July 2010 (Previews only)

Your rating: None Average: 5 (2 votes)

If you had asked me to name a comic book that would use the word 'ratiocination', I would not have picked Scooby-Doo. Nor would I have thought there would be so many zombies in one Previews. Surely this craze is past its sell-by date? No teenage zombie ninja turtles so far, though.

And Radio Comix is back! But will they stay? Also Flight #7 and some new titles.
