ANWR Drilling Back in the News
Posted by Aureth on Tue 9 Apr 2002 - 19:32Senate Republicans are arguing that the recent spike in oil prices further justifies exploration for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. May 1 Planetary Alignment
Posted by shockwave on Wed 10 Apr 2002 - 00:30On May 1 of this year, the same planetary "pile up" that was mentioned last week will also cause another unusual sight in the skies. Shortly after dark you will see a line form with M45 (the Pleiades cluster) on the bottom with Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Saturn all lining up close together! Planetary alignments are neat, and they rarely form up with other galaxies.
For those of you who are interested in where this is in the sky and what it will look like, you can see a preview on my page.
You shouldn't need a telescope to view this. It will be visible to the naked eye.
