Dinosaurs are Tasty

Turns out we mammals weren't always the lowest strand on the Cretacean food web, after all. New fossils prove that at least two mammal-like animals existed as far back as the early Cretaceous, and more surprising still: their fave diet? Dinosaurs.

Previously, mammals were believed to have existed only as tiny, nocturnal animals during the reign of the thunder lizards. The discovery of confirmed mammalian dinosaur predators shows that it may not have been only adaptation that caused mammals to win out over the proto-avians; predation by aggressive mammals may have contributed to the demise of smaller dinosaur species.
